Bokor National Park

A half-day out of Kampot, and a break from the heat

National parks and natureType
In short

Bokor National Park covers the plateau above Kampot, reached by a long switchback climb to around 1,000 metres. At the top are the remains of a French hill station abandoned twice over, a cliff-edge pagoda and views down the Gulf coast - and weather that is routinely twenty degrees cooler and thicker with cloud than the town below.

Questions travellers ask

Can I ride up on a scooter?
The road is sealed and in good condition, but it is long, exposed and often wet at the top. Ride it only if you are confident.
Will I see the view?
Sometimes. The plateau makes its own weather and cloud can sit on it all day.
