yes 018, which most people still remember as Seatel, is the outlier among Cambodia’s networks. It runs 4G and nothing else: no 2G, no 3G, no fallback. Where it has built out, that means clean, fast data and proper VoLTE calling. Where it has not, it means no signal at all.

Its selling point for short-stay visitors is the shape of its packages – unlimited data sold by the day, rather than an allowance you have to ration. For someone spending three days in Phnom Penh, that is genuinely easier to think about.

The honest caveat

Coverage is the reason we rarely recommend it as a visitor’s only SIM. The three larger networks have spent far more on their national footprints, and a Cambodia trip that moves between provinces will find the gaps. If you like the simplicity of the day passes, treat it as a second SIM rather than your only one.

Should I choose yes 018 as a tourist?
Only for a short stay in a city where you have confirmed coverage. For anything involving travel between provinces, one of the three larger networks is the safer choice.
What does 4G-only mean for me?
There is no slower 2G or 3G signal to fall back on. Where there is 4G you get good speeds; where there is not, you have no service at all rather than a weak connection.
