Siem Reap changed airports in 2023. Flights now land at Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport (SAI), about 40 km east of town, a 45 to 60 minute drive. The old airport 8 km from the temples, REP, closed to commercial flights on 15 October 2023 - so any guidebook or blog written before then will send you to the wrong place.
Phnom Penh changed airports too. Techo International Airport (KTI) opened to commercial flights on 9 September 2025, about 19 km south of the city, and took over the international traffic. The old Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH) now handles domestic flights, private jets and military use, so arriving international passengers land at Techo.
Not usually. A driver drives; a licensed guide guides. On temple days we arrange a guide separately, because the licensing and the skill are different things. Ask and we will tell you which you need.
Can we stop along the way?
Yes, and you should. The stops between places are often the part people remember. Tell the driver, or tell us in advance if it needs planning.
Do you do one-way transfers without a whole trip?
Yes. Send us the date, the route and the group size and we will quote it.
Is the old Siem Reap airport still open?
No. REP, the airport 8 km from the temples, closed to commercial flights on 15 October 2023. Everything now uses Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport (SAI), roughly 40 km east of town. It was moved partly over concerns about traffic and pollution near Angkor.
How long does it take to reach my hotel?
Allow 45 to 60 minutes to central Siem Reap. The road is new and the drive is easy, but it is far further than the old airport, so build it into your arrival day rather than planning a temple visit an hour after you land.
What if my flight is delayed?
Our drivers track the flight number you give us and wait. A delay that is not your doing costs you nothing extra.
Which Phnom Penh airport will I land at?

How far is Techo from the riverside?
About 19 km south of the city. Traffic decides the journey more than distance does, so we build in more time at rush hour than at midday.
