Sambor Prei Kuk predates Angkor by five centuries. Its octagonal brick towers stand in open forest, and the villages around the site have organised homestays so visitors can stay close.
What a stay looks like

Many visitors break the Siem Reap to Phnom Penh road here. Bring mosquito repellent; the forest is humid.
