There are not many Irrawaddy dolphins left on the Mekong and I would rather you saw them properly than quickly. We go at the right hour, in a boat that cuts the engine, and we wait. I also take people over to Koh Trong for a day, which is an island of pomelo farms and dirt tracks about four minutes from the middle of town and feels like another country.
