I grew up in a village twenty minutes from Angkor Wat and started guiding at twenty-three, mostly because I could not stop reading about the Khmer Empire. Fourteen years later I still find things I have not seen. I like taking people to Preah Khan and Neak Pean early, before the coaches reach them, and explaining why a temple faces the direction it does rather than reciting dates at you. If you have been to Angkor before, tell me and we will go somewhere you have not.
