I guide a lot of families, and I have learned that a seven-year-old at Angkor needs a different day from their parents. We go early, we find the carvings with monkeys and battles in them, we stop for sugarcane juice, and we are back at the pool by eleven. Nobody melts down. I speak Mandarin as well, which I picked up working in a hotel before I trained as a guide.
